End of the school year

The girls finished the school year. Ruby won every possible award: Honor Roll, Math award, Reading award, Science award, Completion award, and Citizenship.

Maggie's a junior now!!!
Ruby created this picture. It's the sun and earth and we sent it to her teacher.

We've been watching Stranger Things. I decided we were going to watch it leading up to the final season and, as much as Maggie claimed she didn't want to, it's been so fun!!!!

Ruby told me she wanted to watch the Star Wars movies with me this summer and I was like yes, let's do this! Unfortunately, she didn't make it through the second movie. I tried to woo her back with A New Hope but it was a hard pass.

Maggie no longer works at Braum's so we've been finding her another job. I guess mostly her but it's annoying.

Somehow, Ruby ran out of medicine. It was a rough week. I tried to get her chewables because she really hates taking pills. She palmed one!!! I noticed her hand move kinda weird and she had spit it out into her hand and was trying to hide it. I'm already Nurse Racheting by checking her mouth. Now I have to make her show me her hands too.

I sleep in on the weekends and Ruby will come and bug me so I will give her my phone, which I know is a mistake but I want to sleep in! One Saturday, I slept in and gave her my phone as ransom to leave me alone. When I got up, I noticed an email from Walmart about my upcoming order. I hadn't made an order so I opened it and Ruby had spent $300 at Walmart on cotton candy, maraschino cherries, and fruit roll ups. Thankfully, I was able to cancel everything. Ridiculous!

We have been having so much fun watching Stranger Things, I decided to watch something similar. I watched Midnight Mass and I loved it. I told Gwen about it (because Henry Thomas is in it) and she said the guy who wrote it has several limited series on Netflix. I said, ok if Midnight Mass is a 6 on the scary scale, what would his other shows be? Because I felt like Midnight Mass wasn't too bad that even Ruby could have watched it. Gwen promised that Midnight Mass is the scariest one and Bly Manor and Hill House were both fun and Hill House would be fine for Ruby. Lies!!!

Ruby and I started Hill House. We made it 30 minutes and, in those 30 minutes, we paused three times and muted twice. Gwen is an unreliable narrator! It was a great show and I made Maggie watch it later but it was way too scary for Ruby.

When I watched on my own, I screamed once so loud that Ruby screamed and her friend she was on the phone with screamed. Then, another time, so loud both girls came to check on me. That second one, Gwen had kinda given me a heads up and I still freaked out. Then when I watched it with Maggie and still screamed and Maggie did a full duck and cover.
