Extracurricular Activities

Maggie's selfies. Such a beautiful girlie!

We started her jiu-jitsu classes but I think we're going to try somewhere else. There are no lessons or structure really. Her first class, the owner grappled with her and gave her pointers, which are the pictures below. But after that, they just put various kids together and let them fight. After the third class, Maggie asked me, are they going to show me what to do? She's so much smaller than the other kids I would really like for her to have some idea of what she's doing before she's fighting. The last class we went to never even happened. They just played music and some people (both kids and adults) were on the mat grappling and some just sat there. Maggie didn't know anyone and didn't want to just go ask someone to fight so we finally just left. I think we need more structure.

We've been doing swim lessons for a while now and she loves them. She still gets nervous but she has gotten so much better. Actually, last week, she graduated to Turtle 1. Woo hoo!

She's also doing piano. So far, she likes it. I mainly just sit in the living room while she practices in the other room so it's hard to give too many details.
