I have a whole list on my phone so here goes.
One night I was putting Ruby to bed and she said, it's my birthday! I, foolishly, replied, no it's not. And she started bawling. Weirdo.
Maggie told me one night while we were cuddling at bedtime that her favorite sound is my voice talking to her. So sweet.
I've been running on the treadmill most mornings and usually Ruby sleeps through that. Recently she's been getting up (which has been super fun to figure out). The first morning she saw me on the treadmill, she kept getting down and laying next to it. Of course, this was just making me nervous, but finally she said, Mommy, are you flying?
Maggie helps me put Ruby to bed sometimes and she'll sing with me. It's just so sweet.
Ruby and Maggie had some kind of crazy virus around Christmas time. First, Maggie had an eye virus. The school sent her home. I took her to the doctor, who said it was a virus and there was nothing to do but let it run its course. Then she got a post-virus rash and got sent home (this was a few days later). I took her back to the doctor and she said it was fine, just let it run its course. Then her eyes got gross again and she got sent home again! Then Ruby's eyes were weird and she kept getting bumps on her. The doc put her on antibiotics but they seem to clear up with even just Neosporin. So no clue what's happening. They mostly seem better.
Spot has diabetes and he has to have two shots a day. It's a pain. He's a pain. Dumb dog.
We no longer have any gates or fences in our house. Ruby not only figured out how to open the gate (which every adult struggles with) but somehow, at age three, had the strength and dexterity to open it. What the hell, man! So yeah, I bought a lock for Maggie's door so we could hide all the art stuff in there. But Ruby is constantly all up in the bathroom pulling stuff out and generally making me want to make her live outside.
