January 2011

Maggie was sitting on the couch. She pointed at me and said, "That's Maggie's Mommy."

I went to pick Maggie up from Nana's house and as a joke I put her coat on over my hands. Nana and I were prompting her by saying, "Oh isn't Mommy silly? It's too small for Mommy." Maggie walked up to me, put her hand on my chest and said, "You have your own coat Mommy."

Maggie told me this morning that there are puppies living in her tummy that bark.

This evening Maggie pulled my dishtowel off the fridge handle. I told her to put it back or I would turn off her Dora show. She ran off. I got up to turn it off so she blocked the TV with her body. Unfortunately the TV uses a remote, which I used to pause the show. She eventually put the towel back and got to finish her show.

Richard and I were being silly in the kitchen and I pretended to be scared of my exercise ball. Maggie ran up and wrapped her little arms around my leg and said, "I'll protect you Mommy."

*

I asked Maggie to take one more bite of dinner. She told me she couldn't because she had Jabberwocky arms.

*
Maggie's started this thing where when she doesn't want to do something she tells me she's too little. So, "Maggie do x." "I can't Mama. I'm too little." It's pretty darn cute.

Richard was eating dinner and Maggie walked up to him and asked for a bite. He didn't answer fast enough so she turned to me and said, "Mama can Maggie have a bite of Daddy's food?"

Maggie has a mini-potty seat for her toy Elmo. She decided she was going to sit on it last night. Of course she is way too big for it. However when she tried to sit on it and couldn't, she looked up at me and said, "Maggie is too little for the potty seat." Not exactly, kid.

Maggie and I were laying on the ground in the office, facing each other. Chloe started to walk in the room. Maggie said, "Chloe is coming to get me," and I said, "Don't worry, I'll protect you." Maggie said, "No, I'll protect you." Awww. . . so sweet.
