Ruby!

Sleep is better. We review the new rules every night. I added explaining why sleep is so important and what she should do if she wakes up. I've been monitoring whether or not she wakes me up. So far it was three days without, one night knocking, two nights without, one with, and now two nights without.

Last night, as I was putting Ruby to bed, she was acting strange. She told me, when I look under my bed, I'm looking for kittens. Which is feasible. Another time I checked her closet and she had locked cats in there. Then she said, go check my closet (where she usually hides contraband). And she just had that look. That look that means she has done something and she knows but there was nothing in her closet. I asked her but she kept saying she hadn't done anything.

So, as I was leaving, she was sniffling and I remembered I had not given her allergy medicine that morning. We went to the kitchen and got her medicine and she got a napkin. Then we walk back in and under her bed is a huge bag of candy Grandpa gave us. Now she had already stolen this once so it didn't have a ton of candy left but still! She must have stolen it that morning. And! the bag was empty. I was so annoyed. I can't hide anything from her. She can undo locks and, if she can't reach something, she figures out a way to climb. She uses stools, chairs, sometimes both stacked on one another. She uses open cabinets to climb to the countertop so she can then reach. She's ridiculous!

In better news, she didn't knock last night. Or rather, she told me she did knock, but very quietly. I didn't hear it so. . . I told her stay in bed and go back to sleep like a big girl. I told her that's what Maggie does and look how big she is.
