Is lava real?

Maggie has lately been asking me if various things are real. I guess from birth pretty much everything is just presented as real and now she's getting to the point where she is starting to wonder what's real and what isn't. Lava is the only thing I can remember but it's come up a lot.
I pulled Ruby's shirt over her head like in hockey fights. :)
I found out I have crazy high bad cholesterol. My good cholesterol and triglycerides are fantastic but still. So I had been working out and eating well but then I stopped exercising because of my still unresolved stupid diastasis recti and then I stopped making such good choices about eating. So when I got this news I resolved to do whatever exercise I can and make good food choices. So! We're going most mornings for an hour walk. It has been so great. Maggie and I talk and Ruby sits in her stroller and it's just so nice. I go back to the doctor to get my cholesterol rechecked in early July.

Amazing!

Look at that tush!

Maggie had her piano recital. Oh, it was so sweet. All the adult ladies in our family met up for a giant Mother's Day brunch in the morning, which was so much fun. And super yummy! Then pretty much as soon as I got home from that I was packing everybody up to go to Maggie's recital. She did quite well. Thankfully, Jan got it on video. :)

Here she is with the flowers Nana and Gran got her.

Everyone got sick. Jilli was sick and Laurie and I saw each other at the brunch and I must have brought it home to her. So she was so sad. But the craziest thing happened: I took her to the chiropractor and it completely got rid of it. At the chiropractor she had a fever and snot was free flowing. See below.

This her at the chiropractor, kind of interacting with other kids. Mostly just stealing their toys.

And this her about an hour after. No fever. No snot. Unbelievable! I have heard many chiropractors claim they can cure colds among other things but I haven't really believed them. I mean body pains, yes. They are a God send for my back and neck but a cold! Amazing.

Buddy was cool

Look at that sweet face and those chubby cheeks.
I woke up in the middle of the night freezing. And I thought gosh I guess a cold front came through but it was so cold I actually couldn't fall back to sleep. So I went downstairs to turn the heater on and. . . the ac was turned all the way down. And this was about 4 am and we're usually in bed by no later than 10. That's a long time. :(
Maggie wanted me to take pictures of her throwing her toy. Silly girl.

Lots of love in these pictures.
I mean you can just feel it rolling off Greenlea in waves.
Cheeks! And lips!

New glasses!
Babies! They actually notice each other now. And sorta-kinda interact. They mostly pull each others hair and poke each others eyes.

So Ruby started sucking her middle and ring finger about six weeks ago. I thought it was kinda weird to start that so late but I think I've figured it out. She doesn't really like solids but she enjoys smashing them. She's chewed on her fingers since pretty much day one (that and towels) and I think she would get banana on her fingers and then later chew on them and hey, they tasted good. And now it's a self-soothing habit. It is so freaking cute.

Alan, Kym, and Emily came down for a big surprise party for Nana's birthday. Laurie and Jeff ordered a ton of amazing food from a local Mexican food restaurant AND made a yellow cake with chocolate icing. We had a champagne toast too. Our big girls ADORE Emily so they were thrilled.

We went out to Paradise to visit Grandma, Grandpa Dennis, and Amanda. We had so much fun and the weather was perfect.

I feel like maybe Maggie has a reputation with the goats. Look them all huddled far away from her.
Expect Buddy. Buddy was cool.

She looks like she's about to brain him with a stick but I feel pretty sure she wasn't and didn't.
