Easter! I went and got Ruby and put her in my room and made them stay. I figured if I put the candy out last night, the dogs would have a blast eating it all.

Saturday, Day 29 of Quarantine
I slept in a little. Ruby watched ponies and let me sleep for an extra 45 minutes or so. Then coffee. Then I walked Savannah. I couldn't let the girls go. Why? I bought them a trampoline and it happened to have showed up quickly so now it's also an Easter present. I unpacked the box last night to see how hard it would be to set it up so I can't let the girls into the garage.
After the walk, I exercised and then we cleaned. Maggie says she loves swiffering so that's her new job.
Two things: when I put Ruby to bed, we were going back and forth and finding her blanket and pillow and we finally got everything and we were reading her book. She suddenly jumps down and sits on the floor in front of me and gives me that look. That look that means she's done something wrong. I say, what, what did you do? And she answers, nothing. . . I don't have anything. . . not my iPad. . . Ha! Despite that solid misdirection, I checked under her bed and there it was. Stinker. She totally would have gotten away with it.
Maggie wanted to show me how to play Minecraft. She built a world for me and it was so sweet. She knew all these things about me. She knew I like natural light and would love lots of books. She even got me some pandas.
Now I have to get everything ready for Easter.

Friday, Day 28 of Quarantine
Today was mellow. We took Savannah on a walk. We watched movies. We made popcorn. Ruby and I mopped the kitchen.
Jay was in bad shape. After breakfast, we just wouldn't get up. He barely moved. He wasn't barking or coughing or anything. It really scared me. It's still scaring me. He ate all of his dinner and he's gone potty but he's so quiet and sleeping a ton. It's scary.
Laurie and I met up for a video hang out. It was nice.

Thursday, Day 27 of Quarantine
Ruby woke up in the middle of the night. She said she hit her face on her window sill. I'm not sure if that's true or not. She let me put her right back to bed. Then she was up a few minutes early. I'm just tired today, I guess, is my point. I'm working out a ton (due to stress) and I feel worn out.
A genuine catch-22. I need to exercise because I'm stressed out. I feel tired from 2+ hours a day of exercise. If I don't exercise I feel pain in my hips and back. Yadda yadda.
Work was crazy. Maggie had a Zoom call with the entire fifth grade and all their teachers, which wasn't a total disaster. They now have more formal schooling online. There are assignments and they will take a couple of grades, but the requirements are pretty low.
I made the girls a taco salad for lunch and they loved it. Woohoo! That never happens. I got one of those produce boxes ($1/1 pound). It had lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado so I thought it would make a good taco salad with soy ground "beef" and taco seasoning. We also got a cantaloupe, which Ruby is loving. They also sent two rolls of toilet paper, which I find amusing. The TP thing is strange. What a strange thing for people to feel like they need to hoard. I also got green apples, lemons, limes, onions, and dried beans. And a bunch of bell peppers and other veggies I chopped up and put in a new stew since my last one smashed last night.
Ruby loves to take showers. She takes at least one a day by herself. Right now she's in there and singing loudly and it's so cute. Her favorite song is Hey Ho by the Lumineers.
Man, I am so tired.

Wednesday, Day 26 of Quarantine
Maggie insisted she was tired and her stomach hurt this morning, so I let her skip the walk. Ruby wanted to stay with Maggie so they stayed home and watched Sesame Street. It was actually really nice. It was sunny and warm and so quiet.
After that, I don't know. It's hard to remember at the end of the day. Maggie did school work. I had their FB messenger time today. Jilli and Ruby played outside together on their devices. It was cool. I did so much cleaning but everything is still a mess, which is super depressing.
Maggie cleaned bathroom counters/sinks, allegedly. I'm not quite convinced.
I was feeling blah but I thought, no we'll still do our movie time. I just had to feed the dogs quickly and this happened:
Six mason jars full of food smashed. Such a freaking pain. Somehow I managed to clean it up without crying (I did scream at the dogs, but, I think, not the girls) and we did movie night. The worst part is that I'm not 100% sure what happened. The shelf didn't break; it just came out of the holder thingy. But why? Because I would like for that to never happen again.
We had movie time. It wasn't bad. But after that I was so done. This week. This month. Ugh.

Tuesday, Day 25 of Quarantine
We got up on time and everyone slept well. We took Savannah on a walk. There was lots of complaining. Maggie again gave a passionate plea to just stop doing school. No one else is doing school! (Not sure how she would know that.) We're moving on to sixth grade anyway! (don't care) It's super fun.
I made them breakfast when we got home. Ruby ate some but Maggie refused. We've had too much junk. It occurred to me this is the first time in their lives that we can have no junk in the house and no one can give them junk outside of the house. Maggie did actually eat some later.
It was a very productive day. Although all I can think about are all the things I didn't get done. I guess that's how it goes when you're responsible for everything. I have to keep reminding myself: there's no way to get everything done so just do the best you can.
I made Maggie clean the toilets today. She took it better than expected. I cooked a bunch of stuff. I exercised. Maggie did her school work. I figured out how to become an observer in her school thing so I can better figure out what she needs to do. Ruby got scratched by Buddy. Savannah will come mess with him while Ruby is dragging him around and Buddy freaks out. This time Ruby got gotted. I wish he gave her a little swipe more often. He never swipes and she thinks he's just a living teddy bear.
Speaking of teddy bears, Ruby gave Savannah a teddy bear and she loves it. It's so cute. She plays catch with it but she also cuddles it when she lays down.

Monday, Day 24 of Quarantine
I got to sleep in a little. Not much but it felt great.
Poor little Jay. The bed has never been taller for such a short boy.
He made it. He needs lots of cuddles right now.
The girls got home late and Ruby pretty much had to go straight to sleep. The switch is so hard on them. They are always a mess.
