Christmas

Not in order, but, my kids tried to lie to me last night! I've added a chore for Maggie that she read to her sister every evening. I had one patient last night so I told them to read while I was working. When I came out I asked if they had read. And Maggie said yes, with a big smile, and looked away. Then I turned to Ruby and asked her and she also said yes and then hid her face behind her chair. I'm still glad they worked together to try to get one over on me. But I definitely let them know I know when you're lying! Now do your chore!

We went and saw the new Trolls movie right before Christmas with Tina and Connor. Connor came over for a couple of hours afterwards.

I mean. . . don't you feel like it's a proof of life picture??? But also! My baby has a license!!!

Ruby's teacher made individualized gloves for all the students in her class.
Ruby made me a calendar for Christmas this year.

Can you see poor Honey Bear underneath Cardi???

Christmas Eve pjs. Maggie told me her shirt didn't fit by which she means it fits but she wants it several sizes too big. Noted.
We went to Texas de Brazil for Christmas Eve dinner with Laurie, Grayson, Gwen, Nana, and Gran. It was so fun. Then we spent all Christmas Day at Laurie's house. It was fantastic!

I was so worried about the dogs destroying Christmas presents so I got up early, put everything out, and just stayed out here until Maggie woke up. But that was too early so I made her go back to bed until I was sure Ruby had enough sleep.
I had a scary experience with Maggie. At Maggie's last yearly check-up, Dr. Roopani thought her back felt off and wanted to get imaging for scoliosis. We got that and she determined it was significant enough to be monitored by a specialist. We went last week. This place didn't have the actual images, just the results so they did new x-rays. After x-rays, Maggie and I were in the room and the lady came in and I could tell something was wrong. She asked when Maggie had gotten the first x-rays and I told her October-ish. She said that Maggie had gone from 19 degree curve to 32 degree curve, which seems bad. She started asking Maggie questions but Maggie answered them all no: no back pain, no nerve issues, no, no, no. She had Maggie bend and stretch and walk funny and did a full exam. Then she said that she didn't recommend anything because the only treatments for scoliosis are braces (which only work for little kids, while their bones are still growing and moving) or surgery and she saw no reason for surgery. She said she wanted to look at one more thing and then she'd be back. She came back and said the report had been written wrong. Maggie hadn't had that huge jump, that it hadn't changed at all. That was nerve wracking.
